I’m so stoked to have an awesome reason to take a road trip soon- to see one of my favorite bands ever, Glossary, play a 20th anniversary show on October 7 in Nashville at the Mercy Lounge.
This group is chock full of amazing, talented folks who I’ve loved seeing live and listening to for ten years now. They were a big part of my college years and I’m so excited to see them again, along with having a fun excuse to head up to Nashville for a day or two.
Besides the amazing tunes, I’m so excited to simply see everyone at the show. There was such a music scene when I lived in Murfreesboro and between the Southern Girls Rock and Roll Camp crew, the folks who frequented the parties and house shows and bars for show atleast once a week, I knew a lot of amazing people. I’m friends with a good amount of them on facebook still, but I haven’t seen most of them in ages. If you are reading this, friends, know there is a big hug coming your way when I see you at the show! It’s going to be a sweet reunion.
I was also lucky enough to have Glossary play my going away party when I moved back home from Murfreesboro. Hands down, this was one of the coolest nights I ever had in town during college. Having three bands I adored play a show for me? Pretty amazing. Fate would have it that my friend Goose recorded some of Glossary’s set, including my favorite song by the band (with a sweet shout out from Kelly!). Not going to lie, makes my a little teary when I see it. You don’t have to cry, but here’s the video to check out “Shaking Like a Flame”, one of the best jams ever.
So, if you are in the Nashville area and are interested in checking out the show, tickets are running low, so I highly suggest buying them online beforehand. I made sure we had ours purchased within a week or two of it being announced.
And yep, I’m saving my money for the weekend and a magical night.
