Wednesday this week brings the official Viceland premiere of my favorite comedy duo of drag queens, Trixie Mattel and Katya. Due to this momentous occasion, the two crazy broads are my Women Crush Wednesday this week.
Trixie Mattel and Katya were on season 7 of RuPaul’s Drag Race along with Katya reaching top 4 of Drag Race All Stars 2 and Trixie is on All Stars Season 3 starting soon (spoiler: Trixie’s my top pick! You can read my post on the All Stars 3 preview too.)
The duo have had an online show, titled UNHhhh, on the World of Wonder Youtube channel for almost 70 weekly episodes and would discuss random topics weekly (don’t worry, the name was post verbal). Loss and I would watch weekly and eat up all the content that the two put out. On top of their hilarious takes on random topics, the show had the best editors, Chris and Ron. The green screen work is simply on point.
Tonight, The Trixie and Katya Show premieres on Viceland and is a format very similar to UNHhhh. Chris and Ron have been working on the new show for a while, so it promises to have some fantastic editing moments. They already have shared the first episode via youtube and on demand, so you can check i t out before tonight’s initial air date (we’ve already watched it twice). I love that the show is what the youtube series was, just a bit more expanded.
I sincerely hope that the Trixie and Katya show does gangbusters and stays on for a few seasons- I know it’ll continually be hilarious and a show that keeps me and many others tuning in for as long as the girls are wearing crazy wigs and playing on a green screen!
